The Research Center of the Confederation of Revolutionary Trade Unions (DİSK-AR), affiliated with the Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey (DİSK), made a striking statement regarding Turkey’s Unemployment Insurance Fund.
According to the statement, over the past three years only 27 percent of the Unemployment Insurance Fund’s expenditures were allocated to workers in the form of unemployment benefits. In contrast, the share of direct and indirect incentives and supports for employers in the fund’s expenditures exceeded 54 percent.
