Another massacre carried out against the Kurdish people is being covered up.

On December 28, 2011, Turkish warplanes bombed villagers in the Roboski area of Şırnak in eastern Turkey. Thirty-four people were massacred, 19 of them children.

Despite years of legal struggle, no one has been punished for 14 years. Who within the military decided on this massacre and on what grounds these people were killed is still kept secret.

Although the state has tried to dismiss the incident by saying, “We thought they were terrorists,” democratic institutions and organizations—especially the Kurdish people—continue to demand that those responsible for the massacre be brought to justice. The state, as always, continues to cover up the massacres for which it is responsible
