A total of 110 people were detained, including Murat Çepni, Co-Chair of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP); Tanya Kara from the Socialist Women’s Assemblies (SKM); İleri Devrim Yurtsever, General President of Limter-İş; Cemil Aksu from Polen Ecology; Ruşa Sabur from Beksav; journalist Pınar Gayıp; and Berfin Polat, a Central Executive Board (MYK) member of the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF).

Those detained also include journalists, human rights defenders, and environmental activists.

While the police claimed it was a “terror operation,” democratic circles reacted strongly. The individuals detained—whose doors were broken down during nighttime raids—are being interrogated at police stations.

The operation, carried out simultaneously in many cities, drew condemnation from various groups, including Sevda Karaca, a deputy from the Labour Party (Emek Partisi). Karaca said:

“The palace regime knows: as long as those who have something to say against poverty, insecurity, war policies, and plunder come together, this system cannot survive. This operation is an operation to protect the survival of the palace. Everyone detained must be released immediately.”

Detentions were also protested in London. Members of associations affiliated with the Democratic Forces Union, who gathered in front of Wood Green Library, demanded the immediate release of all detainees.
