SPOT condemns and adds its voice to those protesting against Trump’s attack on Venezuela. Trump’s military has now bombed seven countries within a year, and we need to mobilise alongside the people of Venezuela to put an end to this barbarism.
All decisions regarding Venezuela must be made by the people of Venezuela. The U.S. blockade must end, Maduro must be released, and — starting with Trump — U.S. military personnel who disregard international laws must be put on trial.
We call on democratic forces in Britain and Turkey to stand together against Trump’s warmongering and total disregard of international law.
Turkey’s President Erdoğan and Britain’s Prime Minister Starmer have once again shown their hypocrisy. Erdoğan used to call Maduro “my brother,” and now he is betraying this “brother” to the point that he cannot even condemn the U.S. attack. There is no end to Erdoğan’s hypocritical policies.
Starmer says he believes in international law, but he abandons such considerations now, just as he did over Gaza. Starmer’s silence in the face of Trump’s barbarity once again proves his hypocrisy.
Hands off Venezuela.
The people of Venezuela are not alone.
Long live international solidarity.
